Nochi Art District

The Nochi Art District, situated at the TNUHDB tenements on Marina Loop Road, represents an artistic addition to Chennai’s cultural landscape. This initiative marks Chennai as the first city in India to boast two art districts, showcasing the collective efforts of St+art India Foundation, Asian Paints, and the Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board to make art accessible to all by revitalising urban spaces.

As the seventh art district in the nation and the third in Tamil Nadu to offer an open-air, public art gallery, Nochi Art District highlights murals on selected facades in the Nochikuppam tenements. Home to over 800 fisherfolk families, Nochikuppam lies adjacent to the foreshore estate promenade, offering a picturesque backdrop directly across from the foreshore estate beach.
