Art Districts are not finished zones—they are ever-evolving, open-air ecosystems of art-making. Built over years in specific neighbourhoods, these districts are shaped by sustained dialogue with communities, institutions, and the material histories of the area. From Lodhi in Delhi to Maqtha in Hyderabad, each district becomes a decentralised museum—one without walls—where mural, text, sound, and form coexist with everyday life.

Mapping the city through dispersed, site-responsive interventions. 

City Projects imagines the urban not as a singular canvas but as a constellation of relational sites. Unlike the concentrated form of an Art District, these interventions are deliberately spread across neighbourhoods and typologies—flyovers, traffic islands, housing clusters, and industrial peripheries. Each project is rooted in research, often co-developed with civic bodies and cultural partners, to surface stories that are otherwise buried within the city’s infrastructural logic. Together, they form a narrative atlas of the city in flux.

A participatory framework for decentralised public art. 

Built on the premise of offering up a wall, this shared IP with Asian Paints rethinks authorship, access, and collaboration in public art-making. By inviting citizens, institutions, and communities to nominate walls, Donate-a-Wall redistributes the power to shape urban visual culture. It challenges the idea of who “owns” public space, enabling artists to embed contemporary storytelling into localities that are often marginalised in urban planning. The outcome is a growing archive of murals that speak in many voices, across many scales.

Site-specific artworks that activate public space through scale, material, light, and interactivity. From inflatables and light-based works to architectural and immersive environments, St+art’s installations transform familiar surroundings into spaces of engagement, reflection, and play. Whether temporary or permanent, each installation is shaped by its context, inviting people to see, move through, and relate to the city differently.

Monumental, high-impact art interventions created in partnership with city governments, national institutions, or across major civic infrastructure. These projects are designed to spark dialogue, shift perception, and leave a lasting visual and cultural imprint on the urban landscape. Immersive, multi-sensory exhibitions that bring together contemporary art, design, and storytelling in accessible formats. These exhibitions often respond to local histories, urban narratives, or sociocultural themes, inviting audiences to engage beyond observation through interaction, participation, and reflection. St+art’s experiential approach redefines exhibition-making in the public realm, opening up new ways of encountering art.

Art as sensory orientation, emotional support, and spatial empathy in care-based institutions.

St+art Care is a long-term initiative that explores how art can meaningfully engage with spaces of care—particularly those that support vulnerable, differently-abled, or neurodivergent communities. Rather than applying a single visual language across contexts, St+art Care works through extended, site-specific processes—attuning to the particular needs, sensory worlds, and institutional routines of each space. 

St+art Court is a gesture towards reclaiming recreational spaces—especially in dense urban settings where such spaces are disappearing or inaccessible. Through collaborative redesign and large-scale painted interventions, basketball courts, schoolyards, and playgrounds are transformed into open arenas of colour, identity, and shared movement. 

Bringing art to the edges—geographically, politically, and imaginatively, St+art Frontier emerges from a desire to engage with regions often excluded from mainstream cultural circuits—border zones, military stations, and high-altitude terrains. Developed in partnership with the Indian Armed Forces, the IP reflects on the notion of frontiers not as limits but as thresholds: spaces where identities are negotiated and histories are held in tension. Through site-specific artworks, often made in extreme environments, the project invites a deeper reckoning with memory, service, and the layered geographies of belonging.

A durational practice of place-making through research, exchange, and co-creation.

The St+art Residency acts as a creative incubator that brings together artists, thinkers, and makers to engage deeply with specific geographies. Temporality is central—residencies unfold over weeks or months, allowing practitioners to listen, observe, and build relationships. Often rooted in themes such as craft, ecology, or memory, the residency fosters interdisciplinary conversations that translate into forms ranging from public art to archives, performative gestures, or ephemeral interventions. Each edition becomes a lens through which to see the city differently.

Interrupting the commute with moments of reflection and encounter.

Transit spaces—metro corridors, railway underpasses, airport walkways—are the in-between sites of the city, often overlooked and underfelt. St+art Transit works within these interstitial zones to embed art into the fabric of movement.
