SB Marg

St+art India recreates the cultural history of the the area where the Senapati Bapat Marg Flyover is located and pays tribute to the ever-changing landscape of the city of Mumbai.

Monotone illustrations are juxtaposed against one another on the flyover giving the viewer a sense of the rich traditions and narratives of this area through the decades – cotton mills, the corporate parks, indo-saracenic architecture, old bus tickets, heritage chawls, street vendors, festive rituals, dabbawallas, with dispersed flowers in the midst of them, evoking the iconic Dadar flower market.

The project was undertaken in 2021. It has been curated by Hanif Kureshi, designed by Akash Alankar & Johnson.
