St+art Goa
For the first time in the city of Goa, the St+art Festival in its 8th rendition aimed to centre its entailing art interventions around exploring Goa from the perspective of an outsider. The festival employed a variety of mediums to probe and understand the notion of what it means to be Goan. Using temporary, plug-in initiatives it accommodated individual perspectives of different creative personalities. The combined effect of their reveal in the city helped us get a better understanding of its cultural landscape. Through the festival, an attempt was made to direct attention to Goa’s innate charm, while being mindful of leaving it undisturbed.
Representing the ‘On Streets’ part of Serendipity Arts Festival 2017, St+art Goa 2017 worked with different mediums characteristic of street art - from quintessential street art and giant cut-out paste-ups to sign-painting and guerrilla projections. The festival was all about exploring the old and familiar through the new and now.
