St+art Mumbai

St+art Mumbai brought the St+art India Foundation’s vision of making art accessible in public spaces to the city in November 2014, following the success of its first edition in Delhi. Over 24 days, 20 Indian and international artists transformed spaces across Bandra, Dharavi, Kala Ghoda and Versova through murals, installations and other public art interventions, while a programme of workshops, screenings, walks, talks, performances and exhibitions engaged local communities with street art. The festival also featured MAGMA Vol. I and II, a two-part exhibition exploring the journey from street to art, and workshops with children from Dharavi that introduced them to street art as a form of creative expression. Supported by Asian Paints and a network of cultural and institutional partners, St+art Mumbai brought together artists, communities and the wider public to reimagine the city through art and create greater awareness of the possibilities of public space.
