‘Everyday Mumbai’ (2021)

St+art is thrilled to share with all of you their latest project at Mumbai's Worli Love Grove pumping station - ‘Darroj Mumbait’. Translating to ‘Everyday Mumbai’, the mural is an ode to the hustle-bustle that characterises Mumbai city.

‘Darroj Mumbait’ portrays regular people engaging in their daily routines as a reminder that the city moves forward through its people. Bonded by their work, culture, language and the everyday energy, the people are depicted happily going about their everyday activities to encompass the need for us to stay positive - and to remind us that the only way is to keep moving forward.

The project is a culmination of efforts by long-standing collaborators @asianpaints, @nucleusofficeparks as well as support from @my_bmc, and has been painted by @aravaniartproject, a trans and ciswomen collective of artists based in India. Aravani Art Project aims to embrace the transgender community by creating consciousness and well-being through art, awareness and social participation.

Through vibrant colours, textures and patterns, ‘Everyday Mumbai’ emphasises the need to bask in the chaos and absorb the energy around us.
