Gracious Heritage
by Majlis Group
15 artists from the Majlis Art Forum - a New Delhi-based organisation which acts as a platform for promoting local talents, got together to bring to life their first large public art mural. Utilising the trees in front of their wall, they created a 3-D seeming mural to draw attention to the city's heritage existing in the form of nature. Mindful of its slow disappearance, however, the Asian elephants in their piece depicted a larger metaphor - for our natural heritage that is fading away slowly due to rapid urbanisation and an increase in pollution levels.
