Inside Out Project

The project began with a striking display of 150 black-and-white portraits of the dock’s resident fishing communities—Koli, Banjara, and Hindu Maratha—pasted on the façade of the main building. This contribution to JR’s global participatory Inside Out Project celebrated the original settlers of Mumbai, amplifying their stories and identities through monumental visuals. Over two weeks, Akshat Nauriyal, assisted by Pranav Gohil and Ravi Patel, captured over 300 community members, making the dock’s invisible faces visible.
