Patuli Substation

A tribute to the artisans of Kumartuli, this mural celebrates the skilled hands that craft the idols of Goddess Durga. Pune-based artist Afzan Pirzade visited Kumartuli to deeply understand the artisans’ traditions, challenges, and stories. The artwork highlights their dedication and craftsmanship, bringing attention to their often unseen contributions to Kolkata’s cultural heritage. The wall, located in Patuli, now stands as a vibrant symbol of their commitment to preserving tradition while uplifting the community’s identity.
