Skyline
by Agastino Lacurcia
As Delhi’s first “Art Station,” Govindpuri Metro Station became a vibrant public gallery through St+art India’s collaboration with DMRC. Italian artist Agostino Iacurci designed a mural titled ‘Skyline,’ seamlessly integrating natural elements like trees, mountains, and birds into a female figure representing Mother Nature. Her galaxy-filled hair flows across the station’s facade, symbolizing a contrast between urban chaos and a dream-like escape. The mural, completed in 11 days with student assistance, highlights the power of using transit spaces as accessible art venues, encouraging a shift from advertising to cultural engagement in public spaces.
