The Unseen

The Aravani Art Project, a collective dedicated to creating safe spaces for the transgender community, led the creation of a mural that celebrates and empowers the residents of Sonagachi, particularly transgender individuals and sex workers. The mural, completed through a participative process involving locals and members of the transgender community, conveys a message of respect and dignity. Positioned on the DMSC building, the artwork challenges societal stigma by asserting that individuals are not defined by their profession but by their humanity and right to respect.
