Tollygunge

This mural is a homage to legendary filmmaker Satyajit Ray and his poetic realism that captured the soul of Kolkata. Painted in the heart of Tollywood, this artwork celebrates Ray’s iconic contribution to Indian cinema and his deep connection with the city. Chennai-based artist A-Kill’s use of realism and surrealism is evident in his depiction of Ray, inspired by a photograph by late Nemai Ghosh. Inaugurated by notable dignitaries, the mural not only honors Ray’s legacy but also transforms the streets of Tollygunge into a cultural landmark.
