Untitled: Zero
by Pragyesh (Zero)
Pragyesh, based on his experiences with the people of Mahim, created this mural which draws from the history of Mahim (Mahikavati). He depicts this image of a boy, which he metaphorically associates with a bird's nest, who, just like the bird, learns to fly on his own, along with the daily struggles and passion to learn and grow. Here, the boy is shown confident and ready to fly away to live life on his own terms.
The background is painted in identifiable silhouettes of the many lanes of Mahim, where the electrical wires criss-cross with the work, adding to the beauty of Mahim's random architecture.
He painted this mural for the people of Mahim, blessed by the Mahikavati Devi to produce emerging talents (rappers, beatboxers, skaters, dancers) in the bustling lanes of Mahim.
