Wall of Harmony

The "Wall of Harmony" mural, covering 24,000 sq.ft. The Secretariat boundary wall in Itanagar celebrates Arunachal Pradesh’s 50th anniversary. Initiated by St+art India Foundation in partnership with the Government of Arunachal Pradesh and supported by Asian Paints, the artwork illustrates the state’s journey since its renaming from NEFA in 1972, highlighting its unique heritage and community spirit.

Under the theme "Celebrating Past and Nurturing Future," the mural integrates key historical milestones, cultural symbols, and natural elements. It commemorates moments like the renaming of NEFA to Arunachal Pradesh and showcases the Tawang Monastery, diverse tribal crafts, the state’s flora and fauna, and infrastructure developments. Figures such as Verrier Elwin and Daying Ering, alongside significant events like the first aircraft landing in Ziro, were included with guidance from Dr Ashan Riddi of Rajiv Gandhi University to ensure historical accuracy.

As the largest panoramic mural in Northeast India, the "Wall of Harmony" exemplifies St+art India Foundation’s mission to democratise art and reimagine public spaces, offering Itanagar a vibrant piece that honours Arunachal’s legacy.
