Worli Dairy Project
by Afzan Raju Pirzade
The Worli Dairy Project is a collaborative initiative with Asian Paints and Nucleus Office Parks. Supported by the BMC.
The city of Mumbai is not only a metropolitan home to 20 million people, but is also a place rich in biodiversity. While most people think of the city as a concrete jungle, with skyscrapers, slums and beach promenades, there exists within it an immense natural heritage that we must acknowledge and protect.
The mural located at the Worli Dairy, Mumbai, is an ode to this heritage - to the flora and fauna that form an integral part of the cityscape. Painted by artist Afzan, the Worli Dairy mural brings back the bountiful universe of Mumbai’s ecosystem as a reminder to cherish and preserve it within the city’s acquired modernity.
